We were asked by Teelings Distillery to look at the possibility of adding openings to a very large first floor window that was originally designed and made without openings. This situation is not uncommon in commercial buildings where internal walls, partitions and offices are arranged and rearranged as the business changes. We have over the years fitted new openings into existing windows and curtain wall systems across Dublin.
In this case a simple lack of cross ventilation was the issue. Colour matching old windows can be difficult but with effort a close matching RAL colour can usually be found. We were delighted to see the close match of the finished product in this case. Judge for yourself !

This is not an option that is practical for domestic windows as they are relatively inexpensive to completely replace, but in a commercial setting where a replacement window might cost several thousands it is a very attractive solution. While it took us several weeks to source an opening to suit this window the actual installation took just over 2 hours and both new openings were installed and fully functioning before the first tours began that morning.
